Acrylic Court Surfaces
in Bergen County, NJ

Acrylic is the pro-tour surface. It's what the US Open uses. It's what every major basketball tournament uses. And it's the finish that turns a backyard court into something that plays like a professional venue. We install acrylic surfaces over concrete or asphalt for tennis, basketball, pickleball, and multi-sport courts across Bergen County. Free quote in 24 hours.

Why Acrylic?

Acrylic surfaces give you the pro-arena feel: consistent ball bounce, predictable speed, vibrant fade-resistant colors, and a finished surface that looks like the courts you see on TV. It's the right call when you want the most authentic playing experience and you're willing to resurface every 8–10 years as part of normal court care.

Acrylic also lets you customize like nothing else. Multi-tone playing areas, contrasting baselines, custom logos, family names painted at center court — the only limit is design.

What Acrylic Installation Includes

Acrylic is technically a multi-layer system, not just paint. Here's what we install:

Base Prep & Crack Repair

Concrete or asphalt base evaluated, cleaned, and patched. Existing cracks routed and filled before any acrylic goes down.

Acrylic Resurfacer (Filler Layer)

Multiple coats of fine-sand-filled acrylic to level minor imperfections and prepare a uniform surface for the color coat.

Color Coat

Two coats of pigmented acrylic in your chosen color(s). Playing area and run-off can be different colors for visual contrast. Custom designs and logos go here.

Line Painting

Regulation game lines applied with precision-taped acrylic. White for basketball/tennis, contrasting colors for multi-sport overlays. Cured to last.

Cushion Layer (Optional)

For tennis or pickleball, an optional cushion layer beneath the acrylic absorbs shock for joints. Common on courts used heavily by older players.

Every acrylic install includes substrate evaluation, crack repair, resurfacer layers, color coats, regulation line painting, and a written scope of work.

Acrylic Base Options

Acrylic is a finish — it sits on top of a structural base. Here are the base options:

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between acrylic and paint?

Real sport-court acrylic is a multi-layer engineered system with fine-sand-filled resurfacer coats and pigmented color coats. Paint is just paint. Paint peels in 1–2 seasons. Properly installed acrylic lasts 8–12 years.

How long does acrylic installation take?

Acrylic application itself is typically 5–10 days (depending on cure time between coats and weather). If we're building a new base + acrylic together, total project is 4–8 weeks.

Can acrylic go over my existing court?

Yes — this is one of the most common projects we do. We evaluate the existing base for cracks and structural integrity, repair as needed, then apply fresh acrylic. The old court looks brand new in a week.

What colors can I get?

50+ standard color options plus full custom color matching. Court playing area, run-off zone, and lines can all be different colors. Logos and custom designs are also painted with acrylic.

Does acrylic hurt joints?

Standard acrylic on concrete is firmer than VersaCourt tile — harder on knees and ankles for heavy daily play. For joint-sensitive players we add a cushion layer beneath the acrylic, which softens the surface significantly.

How often do I need to resurface?

Acrylic on concrete: every 8–12 years. Acrylic on asphalt: every 6–10 years (asphalt moves more, so resurface comes sooner). Line painting alone can be refreshed every 4–5 years between full resurfaces.

Can you do custom logos at center court?

Yes — family names, school logos, custom designs all paintable in acrylic. We've done team logos, family crests, sports team mascots. Send us inspiration and we'll quote it.
